On Tuesday, 11 March 2014, the final ceremony of the "Gospodarstvenik Primorske za leto 2013" took place in Nova Gorica.

On Wednesday, 19 February and on Thursday, 20 February, 2014, the graduation ceremony for Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral students of the University of Nova Gorica was held at the Lanthieri Mansion in Vipava.

In 2013 HILOVV received the Slovenian National award "Apple of Quality" ("Jabolko kakovosti") for the Best Intensive Programme.

On Friday, 6 December, 2013, the Rector of the Univrsity of Nova Gorica, Prof. Dr. Danilo Zavrtanik hosted the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, as part of the President’s formal visit of Gorizia (Italy). Prof. Dr. Giorgio Gianighian, a faculty member of the study program Economics and Techniques for the Conservation of the Architectural and Environmental Heritage at the University of Nova Gorica’s Graduate School was named Vice-president of the International Research Center for Architectural Heritage Conservation at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Yesterday, the debate and consultation on the amending act in Higher education law took place on the University of Nova Gorica’s premises at the Lanthieri Mansion in Vipava. The meeting was co-organized by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport and the University of Nova Gorica.

On Friday, 22 November, 2013, the Union Hall in Maribor hosted a formal celebration dedicated to giving out the Zois awards, the Ambassador of Science awards, as well as the Puh awards. The Zois award and the Ambassador of Science award were also given to two faculty members of the University of Nova Gorica.

On Friday, 15 November, 2013, the University of Nova Gorica was visited by the French Ambassador, His Excellency Pierre-Francois Mourier.

The public call for the selling, renting, or assigning of the building rights for the continuous area of land which can also be used for the building of the university center ended at the end of October.
