During the visit of the business delegation from the Russian Tatarstan (the visit was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia and the Russian Federation Embassy in Slovenia), the University of Nova Gorica, represented by the Vice-rector for Education Prof. Dr. Mladen Franko and the Kazakhstan State University for Agriculture, represented by the rector Dzhaudat I.Faizrakhmanov, signed an agreement of collaboration.

For the fourth time in a row, the University of Nova Gorica awarded the best European student film at the international Animateka animated film festival. For the third time, the award was given out together with the ALUO School of the University of Ljubljana.

On Friday, 26 September, 2014, the Nahtigal recognition awards were given out to the awardees at the University Research center in Novo mesto. The purpose of the awards is improving research culture in the Dolenjska and Bela krajina regions and pointing out to the excellent achievements of the individuals and groups in the area of research work and mentoring of younger scholars.

In June of this year, a prestigious publishing house Oxford University Press published a monograph by a faculty member of the School of Environmental Sciences at the University of Nova Gorica who also works as a researcher at the Karst Research Institute at ZRC SAZU.
