"Jožefa Stefan Golden Emblem Prize" and "Primorska prize for technology transfer"
On Wednesday, March 26 2008, the awarding of the "Jožef Stefan Golden Emblem Prize" took place at the Institute Jožef Stefan. The prizes are awarded to the Slovene and foreign authors of outstanding doctoral thesis in the fields of natural-mathematical, technical, medical, as well as biotechnical sciences.

New success of researchers from University of Nova Gorica – After a publication in Science a new publication in Nature
Physicists from the Laboratory for astroparticle physics of the University of Nova Gorica, the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of the University of Ljubljana, the Jožef Stefan Institute, Ljubljana and the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of the University of Maribor, who pursue their research of elementary particles within the Belle Collaboration, have together with their international colleagues published a paper on the differences between properties of matter and anti-matter in the most prominent scientific journal Nature (Belle Collaboration, Nature, 452, 332-335 (20 March 2008) | doi:10.1038/nature06827).

Pierre Auger Collaboration - cosmic ray
Scientists of the Pierre Auger Collaboration will begin today (July 2, 2007) the public release of one percent of the cosmic-ray events recorded by the Pierre Auger Observatory in Argentina. New cosmic-ray data—about 70 events per day—will be posted on a daily basis. The data and their visualizations are available at http://www.auger.org/, http://www.auger.org.ar/.
