The University in Nova Gorica is notifying that there are still free admissions for Graduate and Undergraduate study programmes

Due to unforseen circumstances we are sorry to announce that professor Stephen Hawking from the University of Cambridge will not be able to participate at the scientific conference »Time and Matter 2007«, organised by the Laboratory for Astroparticle Physics of the University of Nova Gorica between 26 and 31 August 2007 at Bled.

Scientists of the Pierre Auger Collaboration will begin today (July 2, 2007) the public release of one percent of the cosmic-ray events recorded by the Pierre Auger Observatory in Argentina. New cosmic-ray data—about 70 events per day—will be posted on a daily basis. The data and their visualizations are available at http://www.auger.org/, http://www.auger.org.ar/.

Upon the invitation of the University of Nova Gorica, Professor Stephen Hawking from the University of Cambridge will pay a visit to Slovenia at the end of August.

From 9th to 13th April the SECOND EUROPEA WINE CHAMPIONSHIP took place in Jumilla in Murcia, Spain. Among the participants, aged between 17 and 25, were also two students of the School of Viticulture and Enology of the University of Nova Gorica.

On November 22, 2006, the Senate of University of Nova Gorica conferred a honorary doctorate (doctor honoris causa) upon Dr. Christer Fuglesang, an astronaut of the European Space Agency ESA, as a recognition of his outstanding achievements in the field of science and development of space missions and life in space.

The major celebratory ceremony took place at Slovensko Narodno Gledališče in Nova Gorica on Sathurday, 22 October 2005 at 19.00.
