A list of ten most prominent articles published by the faculty members of the University of Nova Gorica in journals with the highest Impact factor.

As part of the Slovene Science Foundation gala ceremony called ‘Thanksgiving Day’ that took place in Prešeren’s hall of the Slovene Academy of Arts and Sciences, Dr Edvard Kobal gave the “The Prometheus of Science for Excellence in Communication” award to the Scientific Evenings hosted by the University of Nova Gorica. This award marks the first decade of successful fulfillment of the University’s mission to share scientific discoveries and findings with various publics.

Springer Publishing House’s series Advances in Industrial Control just published a scientific monograph by Prof. Dr. Juš Kocijan, titled Modeling and Control of Dynamic Systems Using Gaussian Process Models.

On Thursday, 15 October, 2015 at the solemn academy ceremony marking the twentieth anniversary of the University of Nova Gorica, the President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor bestowed the Order for Merits upon the University of Nova Gorica for its remarkably successful development and its achievements enriching the Slovenian higher education area.

The University of Nova Gorica started operating in 1995 under the name Faculty of Environmental Sciences, which was, at the time, the first international postgraduate school in Slovenia, founded by the Municipality of Nova Gorica and the Jožef Stefan Institute from Ljubljana.
