Cilji in kompetence

Študenti obvladajo razumevanje bolj zahtevnih besedil v angleškem jeziku. Skozi redno vadbo in pripravo nalog, s časom bodo znali bolj fluentno pisati o bolj zahtevnih temah, ter pripraviti in predstaviti izbrano seminarsko temo.
V procesu študiranja, študenti razvijajo sposobnosti branja, pisanja in govora, razumevanje bolj zahtevnih tem in jezika, ter celovito izražanje v angleškem jeziku.
Splošni cilj predmeta: znanje C1 (po evropski lestvici znanja tujega jezika)

Pogoji za vključitev v delo oz. za opravljanje študijskih obveznosti

Srednješolsko znanje splošne angleščine na stopnji uspešno opravljenega preizkusa iz angleškega jezika na splošni ali poklicni maturi. Zaželeno je tudi znanje, pridobljeno pri predmetu Angleški jezik 1.

Vsebina

Angleški jezik 2
Analiza in razumevanje bolj kompleksnih besedil v angleškem jeziku.
Načini miselnega ubesedovanja, načini izražanja kritičnega in argumentiranega mišljenja.
Bolj kompleksna slovnica (usvajanje zahtevnejših slovničnih in skladenjskih struktur; kontrastiranje in primerjanje idej in miselnosti).
Proces bolj zahtevnega pisanja (tema, oblika, fluentnost, slovnična preciznost, koherentnost).
Proces branja in razumevanja bolj kompleksnih tem (bogatenje pojmovnega in jezikovnega zaklada).
Gotovosti in negotovosti v miselnosti in jeziku; eksplicitno in implicitno.
Jezik v akademskem okolju (akademski angleški jezik); pojmovlje; raziskava, članek.

Predvideni študijski rezultati

Znanje in razumevanje:
Poznavanje in razumevanje bolj kompleksnih tem in besedil v angleškem jeziku;
poznavanje in razumevanje bolj kompleksne angleške slovnice in skladnje;
razvijanje sposobnosti bolj zahtevnega branja, pisanja in govora (študenti pripravijo redne študijske naloge in seminarsko nalogo);
postopno razvijanje miselnosti, jezika in pojmovlja v relevantnem področju (humanistika, druge znanosti).

Reference nosilca

Milena Kovačević je diplomirala angleški jezik in književnost in komparativno književnost na Univerzi v Zagrebu; magistrirala na isti univerzi. Dobitnica rektorjeve nagrade Univerze v Zagrebu. V britanski kulturni diplomaciji (British Council Zagreb) strokovno izpopolnjevanje v Združenem Kraljevstvu. Redno zaposlena na Univerzi v Novi Gorici; predavanja o književnosti na univerzah v Franciji, Angliji, Italiji, Grčiji in na Danskem.

Milena Kovačević holds BA in English Language and Literature and Comparative Literature from the University of Zagreb, and MPhil from the same university. During her studies she was awarded the University of Zagreb Rector's award. In British cultural diplomacy (British Council Zagreb) professional development in the United Kingdom. She has been teaching English and has a full time employment at the University of Nova Gorica; some of her lectures on literature have been given at the universities in France, England, Italy, Greece and Denmark.

Veronika Piccinini, English language lecturer, holds a BA (Hons) in English Language in Literature. Since 2005, she has been working at the University of Nova Gorica, where she has been teaching ESP – English for Specific Purposes at various study programmes. She has also been teaching EAP – English for Academic Purposes as a branch of ESP as part of the courses Introduction into Project Work and Group Project at the School of Environmental Sciences at the University of Nova Gorica.
She has gained her professional experience by teaching at various institutions on different levels of the educational system. She has received further professional training also in the U.K. and Austria (ECML – European Centre for Modern Languages, part of the European Council). She is particularly interested in the research of the methodology of teaching English as a foreign language, especially in creative language teaching. She has been presenting her work at conferences and published articles in Slovenia and abroad.
