In the show Slovenska kronika on the national TV on 21.01.2025, FN professors and assistants, discuss their engagmenet in the consortium for the construction of the largest observatory for astronomy with high-energy cosmic photons.

During 16-18 February 2023, we open our doors to high school students and the general public with presentations and visits to our research labs. Furthermore, all the events will be in hybrid mode, which means that the visitors will also have a chance to attend the events online. We will have Dr. Jure Japelj talking about the GoChile Telescope, then prof. Dr. Andreja Gomboc will talk about how supermassive black holes devour stars, Prof. Dr. Artem Badasyan will present how we use physics to study biological systems, and Prof. Dr. Egon Pavlica will show us how we build new nano-devices. On 4 December 2017, the first Large Size Telescope (LST), under construction at Roque de los Muchachos Observatory in La Palma, Spain, reached an important milestone when its 18-ton mirror dish, mostly made of reinforced carbon fiber tubes, was lifted to the lower structure successfully.

University of Nova Gorica has in the scope of the European Researcher's night on Sep. 29, 2017 organized a number of events to promote science and the profession of a scientist to general public. Main events took place at Bevk square in the downtown of Nova Gorica.
