On Saturday, Jan 9th, 2016 the 7th National Competition in Astronomy took place at Srednja šola Veno Pilon Ajdovščina, Gimnazija Šentvid Ljubljana and Gimnazija Murska Sobota. The competition is organized by Society of Mathematicians, Physicists, and Astronomers of Slovenia, in collaboration with astrophysicists from the University of Nova Gorica.

On 10.12.2015 there was the 7. national elementary and high-school level competition in astronomy, taking place at 249 schools around Slovenia.

Have you ever wandered what makes the universe tick? What are the physical laws that describe everything from the smallest to the largest things? From the forces between elementary particles to largest structures in the universe, their creation, evolution and future?
