Abstract
The modern development of X-ray structural analysis allows significant expansion of this research method, from routine determination of crystal structures to analysis of deformation electron density, study of the structure of matter under high pressures, determination of the structure of excited states, and more. Quite often, the limiting factor is the size and quality of the crystals. Various methods of crystallisation – such as lowering the temperature, evaporation of the solvent, diffusion, and their combinations – will be considered.
