Yerevan State University, Armenia), titled "Rashba Effect in Semiconductor Nanostructures".
Abstract
In the first part of this talk, I will give a brief introduction to the Rashba spin–orbit interaction, its experimental verification, and its possible applications. The second part will focus on our recent work on the effects of Rashba interaction in low-dimensional semiconductor systems, such as quantum dots and quantum rings. In particular, I will discuss a possible quantum-mechanical implementation of Maxwell’s demon in nonreciprocal quantum rings.
