Seminar
Seminar, ki ga bo imel Prof. Dr. Tomoki Tateishi (Frontier Research Institute for Interdisciplinary Sciences, Tohoku University, Japan), z naslovom „Outside-the-cage approach for cage-assembled porous materials“.
Povzetek
A cage structure inherently delineates an inside and an outside in three-dimensional space.
At the molecular scale, cage-shaped molecules function as hosts that encapsulate guest
molecule(s) within their internal cavities. This types of behavior has significantly advanced
the field of host–guest chemistry. Upon assembly of multiple cages, two distinct types of
spaces emerge: (i) the intrinsic cavities within individual cages and (ii) the extrinsic spaces
formed among the cages. Despite extensive studies on the intrinsic cavities, the chemistry
of the extrinsic spaces toward functional materials remains relatively underexplored.
