University of Nova Gorica invites to the lecture: "Women, Men, Human Capital: the Local and the Global in Migrations over Time" by Prof. Dr. Dirk Hoerder.

As customary for the beginning of the new academic year, the University of Nova Gorica is organizing several events, all part of the so called University of Nova Gorica Week. Various programs and activities will be in progress between 14 and 18 October, 2013. During this time, different lectures, roundtables, workshops, project presentations, exhibitions and the like will be taking place at the University and its schools, at laboratories and centers. The key event of the week will be the formal celebration marking the kick-off of the new academic year on Thursday.

Between 3rd and 5th October, 2013, the Slovenian Congress of Slavists will be taking place at the University of Nova Gorica's venue within the Lanthieri Mansion in Vipava (3rd October), at the Nova Gorica Grammar School (4th October), and around the region, to be specific, following the Soča front route (5th October).

In collaboration with the EPF (»European Photocatalysis Federation«), the Laboratory for Environmental Research of the University of Nova Gorica will organize the Third European Symposium on Photocatalysis. It will be taking place in Portorož, between 25th and 27th September.

The Materials Research Laboratory of the University of Nova Gorica is hosting the conference »European Conference of Materials and Technologies for Sustainable Growth - ECo MaTech«, taking place from 19-21 September 2013, at Bled (Slovenia).

The School of Humanities at the University of Nova Gorica is the co-organizer of 11th International Comparative Literature Colloquium titled Literature and Moving Images which will be taking place between 11 and 13 September, 2013, as part of this year's Vilenica International Literary Festival.

University of Nova Gorica will be present at this year's MOS Fair (International Trade Fair) which is organized by the Chamber of Craft and Small Business of Slovenia. The Fair will be taking place in Celje between 11 and 17 September, 2013.

University of Nova Gorica, as a partner of the project NANOFORCE, organizes a guided and quick opportunity to develop business ideas and obtain funding for startup businesses, entrepreneurs, researchers and scientists.

In collaboration with the National Institute for Biology and WPI (Worcester Polytechnic Institute) from the United States, the Center for Biomedical Sciences and Engineering at the University of Nova Gorica is organizing the international summer school called “From 2D Biology to Engineered 3D Medical Solutions.”

Once again, the University of Nova Gorica's School for Viticulture and Enology will be present at the international agricultural and food Fair which will take place between 24th and 29th August, 2013 in Gornja Radgona, Slovenia.

On 2 July , 2013 at 10 a.m., the University of Nova Gorica will organize an event called “Developmental Projects of the University of Nova Gorica at the Crossroads of National and Trans-border Challenges”. It will be held at the University’s space in the Lanthieri mansion in Vipava.
