On Friday, January 30, 2009, the University of Nova Gorica is hosting the Conference of University Rectors, which will be attended by the heads of Slovene Universities: the University of Nova Gorica, the University of Ljubljana, the University of Maribor and the University of Primorska.

Between January 16 and 18 2009, the School of Humanities of the University of Nova Gorica is organizing the ConSOLE XVII Scientific Conference. ConSOLE or Conference of the Student Organization of Linguistics of Europe (SOLE) is an annual travelling student conference. It is open to registered students worldwide and it provides a forum for the coming generations of linguistics to present their research to an international audience. In the past, ConSOLE travelled all over Europe, and now after 16 years, it is finally organized outside former Western Europe.
