Hunting Dark Matter with Supernova Explosions
The nature of dark matter, the substance that accounts for more than 85% of all matter in the Universe, remains a mystery. Many theories predict that dark matter is made up from yet - undiscovered fundamental particles. A plethora of ground-based and space born experiments are looking for traces of these particles. A new study involving Tanja Petrushevska of the Center for Astrophysics and Cosmology at the University of Nova Gorica shows how researchers can use explosions of stars outside of our Milky Way to search for a particular class of dark matter particles.

University of Nova Gorica successfully performing distant-learning activities in the COVID-19 pandemic state of emergency
This is the result of the years-long deliberate implementation of new teaching approaches, especially the so-called flipped learning, where the students are provided with the learning materials (recordings of lectures, online videoclips, articles) in advance, before lectures, and they study the materials themselves first and only then discuss them in class.

An agreement signed by the University of Nova Gorica (UNG) and Ca’ Foscari University of Venice inaugurates the launch of the double degree Master’s programme in Language Science, on the basis of the existing Master’s study programme Slovene Studies – Linguistics at the UNG School of Humanities and the Master’s study programme Language Science (it. Laurea magistrale in Scienze del linguaggio – LM-39) at the Department of Linguistics and Comparative Cultural Studies at Ca’Foscari University of Venice.
