Virtual reality
Center for Information Technologies and Applied Mathematics organizes a seminar on Virtual Reality, on Tuesday 10th March, at 13:00 in Vipava, room 2.1. The speaker is assist.prof. Jorge C. S. Cardoso from University of Coimbra, who is visiting our center in an Erasmus+ mobility.
Abstract: This presentation introduces research in Virtual Reality developed within the Information Systems Group (ISG) of CISUC, the Centre for Informatics and Systems of the University of Coimbra. After a brief overview of the research centre and the group’s broader work in sociotechnical information systems, the talk focuses on VR as one of the areas through which ISG explores human-centered and interactive technologies. The presentation highlights my research in VR, with emphasis on immersive interaction, user experience, and applications in areas such as learning, cultural heritage, and interactive system design. By situating these projects within the wider context of ISG and CISUC, the talk shows how virtual reality research contributes to the group’s broader scientific agenda and supports opportunities for academic exchange and collaboration.
