Seminar "Intersection of artificial intelligence, sustainable infrastructure, and responsible governance" 6th July 2026
Center for Information Technologies and Applied Mathematics organizes a seminar on the intersection of artificial intelligence, sustainable infrastructure, and responsible governance, on Monday 6th July, at 10:00, in Vipava, room 2.1. The speaker is prof. Joao Paulo Veiga from AI Centre of the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil.
Abstract: The seminar will showcase innovative work on AI-enabled tools for assessing the environmental, regulatory, and geopolitical impacts of AI/HPC data centres, alongside a new governance framework examining how hyperscale AI infrastructure is reshaping cities, urban sustainability, human rights, and digital sovereignty in support of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The session will provide an opportunity to discuss emerging policy challenges and international collaboration towards environmentally sustainable, resilient, and sovereign AI ecosystems.
