NEXT Erasmus Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) "AI and IoT for Measurement Systems in Health and Energy Sectors 2026 – Second Edition
The School of Engineering and Management is offering three student places for the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) Summer School, which will be delivered in two phases:
- Live online lectures: every Thursday afternoon in September and October 2026 (24 September, 1 October, 8 October, and 15 October), from 14:30 to 17:30 (CET).
- On-site programme in Rome, Italy: from Monday, 26 October 2026, at 14:00 to Friday, 30 October 2026, at 12:30 (CET).
The programme aims to provide a multidisciplinary perspective on how Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) can be integrated to design, implement, and optimize advanced measurement and monitoring systems.
Particular emphasis will be placed on applications in the health and energy sectors, where AI- and IoT-enabled solutions are transforming data acquisition, decision-making, and system intelligence.
Participants will engage in a combination of online synchronous learning and in-person intensive sessions, benefiting from international collaboration, hands-on activities, and exposure to emerging research trends.
The organizer offers accommodation in shared rooms at the Niccolo Cusano University dormitory. Travel and other expenses are covered by each student through the Erasmus program.
The call for applications is open to second-year undergraduate students (as well as first-year students who meet the requirements for enrollment in the second year) and all students in the Master’s program in Industrial Engineering.
Applications must be submitted by August 3, 2026, to the Office of the School of Engineering and Management or via helena.skrl@ung.si.
Preference will be given to students with higher academic performance (average grade on completed exams, up to 5 points) or students who already have professional/scientific publications (+5 points).
Participation in student projects at the University of Nova Gorica is an additional advantage (+5 points). Undergraduate students can earn up to 3 ECTS credits through their participation.
