Orientation Day 2026

Dear UNG freshmen, welcome to the ORIENTATION DAY 2026!

Meet new friends, get to know your university and the new study environment. Learn more about the extracurricular activities, international mobility and much more!

WHEN?
On the first day of the new academic year, on 1st October 2026.

WHERE and HOW DO I COME THERE?
In the morning first at your own school ((time slots vary depending on the individual school, so please check with YOUR school). After that we head to the MAIN EVENT with a reception in Vipava (Lanthieri Mansion, Glavni trg 8, Vipava)*!

Free transport* to Vipava and back will be available.
Bus ride available: Rožna Dolina - Ajdovščina – Vipava / Vipava - Ajdovščina - Rožna Dolina.

Mandatory registrations for free bus transport to Vipava and back:
Please REGISTER through the form Orientation Day by (including) Friday, 25th September 2025.

ORIENTATION DAY PROGRAMME

PART 1: Morning welcome programmes for students at individual UNG schools
At each UNG school. Schedules vary across schools, so please check at your school.

Organised transport for freshmen to the MAIN EVENT in Vipava

• 11:00: departure of the bus from the university centre in Rožna Dolina
  (for freshmen of the School of Arts, the School of Humanities and the Graduate School)
• 11:35: departure of the bus from the university centre in Ajdovščina
  (for freshmen of the School of Science)
• 11:50: arrival to the university centre in Vipava
  (Mandatory registrations for bus transport in advance! See info in previous section.)

PART 2: Main event at the University centre in Vipava

• 12:00: welcome greeting by the Rector Prof. Dr. Boštjan Golob and Vice-rector for education and arts Prof. Dr. Penka Stateva
  - greeting by the representatives of UNG offices providing services for students

• 12:30-14:00: Social gathering with snacks
  - icebreaker games
  - snacks and stands presenting support services, visiting institutions, and student council (where all freshmen can get their welcome package)

• 14:15: departure of the bus from Vipava towards Ajdovščina and Rožna Dolina
