Staff mobility for training - Incoming
Erasmus+ supports training periods for staff working in higher education institutions, both in teaching and non-teaching roles.
Training abroad offers an opportunity for personal, professional and academic development. It allows participants to gain new transferable skills, develop cultural awareness and open-mindedness, expand knowledge in new subjects or teaching methods, helps broaden horizons, both physically and intellectually, and helps improve and develop language skills.
For training within Erasmus+ programme at University of Nova Gorica (UNG), you must be an employee of a higher education institution (HEI). For staff applying from Partner countries, an Inter-institutional Agreement between your home institution and UNG is necessary.
A training period between two Programme Countries must last a minimum of 2 days and a maximum of 60 days.
A training period between Programme and Partner Countries must last a minimum of 5 days and a maximum of 60 days.
In both cases, travel time is not included.
Training periods abroad may include job shadowing, observation periods, professional development courses, or specific competence-building events.
Please send our application by email to international.office@ung.si, including the following information:
Language requirements
The required level of English proficiency at UNG is B2.
Application Deadlines
Applicants from non-visa countries - 45 days
Applicants from visa countries - 90* days

*Visa processing times may vary, and for some countries the procedure can take longer than three months. To ensure you receive your visa in time, we strongly recommend submitting your application well in advance, in accordance with the expected visa processing period.
Application Process
The International Office will forward your application to the relevant Department. The Department will review your proposal and assess whether it aligns with their work plan and/or academic schedule.
If suitable, a representative from the Department will contact you to further coordinate your visit and allow you to prepare your Mobility Agreement – Staff Mobility for Training.
Please note that this process may take up to 14 days.
Admission
Once the Mobility Agreement has been agreed upon and received by the International Office, you will be issued an official Invitation/Acceptance Letter, along with further information about living and working at UNG.
Visa
For more information regarding visa requirements, please visit the website of the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.
We will remain on your disposal in case you may need any help with visa application process.
Insurance
During your stay at UNG, all visiting staff (academic and non-academic) are required to have their own insurance covering health, liability, and accidents, valid in Slovenia/EU for the entire duration of the mobility.
Proof of valid health, liability, and accident insurance must be submitted by email to international.office@ung.si at least 2 weeks before your arrival. Please note that failure to provide the required documentation within this timeframe may result in the cancellation of your mobility.
Grant Agreement
The Grant Agreement outlines the financial support and payment arrangements for the participant and must be signed prior to arrival at UNG. For participants from Partner Countries, the Grant Agreement will be prepared by the International Office, after you provide us:
