How to join the system

Each (not employed) student with a student status is entitled to subsidized student meals.

The process of first entry into the subsidized food system:

  1. Web application through the web portal.
  2. The student must go to the closest point of subsidized student meals with number of applications (shown in the upper part of the web application), personal ID, proof of registration, registration number, e-mail address and a mobile phone (or 15 EUR per chip card) within 90 days of completing the online application form.

The process of extending subsidy eligibility for student meals:

  1. Student must go to the closest point of subsidized student meals with personal ID and proof of registration.

Information for 2026/2027

Enroll Early in Order to Avoid Lines and Crowds!

Some Subsidized Student Meals offices will allow early enrollment in the Subsidized Student Meals system for the academic year 2026/2027 as early as September. If you are already enrolled at an educational institution, it is advisable to use the opportunity and enroll in the system as soon as possible before the lines and crowds form in front of the offices. Furthermore, early enrollment will be possible at selected student clubs across Slovenia and not just in university towns. For prospective students and other students enrolling in the Subsidized Student Meals system for the first time, the application procedure is presented at https://www.studentska-prehrana.si/, where frequently asked questions are available.

For students who are already in the Subsidized Student Meals system, the right to subsidized student meals, for the academic year 2026/2027, will be automatically extended.

In order to avoid unnecessary queues and crowds we encourage you to enroll in the system for the new academic year as soon as possible.
