Across Hackathon: Innovating for Water in the Cross-Border Mediterranean Region

The University of Perpignan via Domitia (UPVD) and the University of Girona, our partners within the Across alliance, are organising Across Hackathon titled “Innovating for Water in the Cross-Border Mediterranean Region”.

The Mediterranean region is increasingly affected by prolonged droughts and growing pressure on freshwater resources. Building on these shared territorial challenges, participants will be invited to design innovative, sustainable and practical solutions covering the entire water cycle—from freshwater management and agriculture to marine ecosystems and coastal resilience.

Participants will be divided into 10 multidisciplinary teams, bringing together students, researchers, innovation professionals, entrepreneurs, public authorities and local communities.

The Hackathon will conclude with project pitches before an international jury, followed by the awards ceremony.
