Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nataša Mehle is an Associate Professor at the School of Viticulture and Enology, University of Nova Gorica, where she teaches the courses Plant Pathology and Modern Approaches in Plant Pathology and Plant Protection. She is also a Research Counsellor and Head of the Laboratory for Viruses, Viroids and Phytoplasmas at the National Institute of Biology.

Her research focuses on the biology, epidemiology, and diagnostics of plant viruses, viroids, and phytoplasmas. Her work includes the development and validation of diagnostic methods, the application of advanced molecular approaches for the detection of plant pathogens, and quality assurance in diagnostic laboratories. She actively contributes to the development of EPPO diagnostic standards and participates in the activities of the EU Reference Laboratory for Viruses, Viroids and Phytoplasmas.

She leads and participates in numerous national and international research projects in the fields of plant health, diagnostics, and the epidemiology of plant pathogens, including studies on grapevine diseases.
