Physics laboratory II
Physics and astrophysics first cycle
Objectives and competences
Students perform practical work from the field of electricity. They independently execute several experiment, which are already setup. Next, they analyse and present the results in an appropriate way in a written report.
Prerequisites
Physics II (1FAF06)
Physics laboratory I (1FAF08)
Content
INTRODUCTION: Safety instructions related to electric measurements
1. EXPERIMENT: Capacitor charge/discharge
2. EXPERIMENT: Dielectric constant
3. EXPERIMENT: Forced oscillation of torsional pendulum
4. EXPERIMENT: Thermal conductivity
Intended learning outcomes
By the end of this course student will be able to perform a simple experiment including these steps:
preparation for the experiment, literature check measurement and data collection statistical analysis of data, model linearization, calculation of linear coefficients and their error writting a report of measurement and results of analysis defense of result
Readings
Each experiment contains a written instructions with the list of relevant readings.
Assessment
Examination of laboratory notes
Delivered reports
Oral defence of reports
