Practical training
Practical training is going on in the 2nd and 3rd year of the BSc study program Viticulture and enology in the School of viticulture and enology. Every student needs to do 200 hours of practical training, organized by a coordinator of practical training and her assistant and under the mentorship of tutors on mentor farms, estates, cellars, institutions with viticulture and enology activity.
Practical Training Tailored to Student Interests
At the Faculty of Viticulture and Enology, students complete their practical training in areas that match their personal interests and career goals. Depending on their focus, internships and hands-on experience can take place in vineyards, laboratories, wineries and cellars, or in wine marketing, communication, and event organization.
Through practical work, students gain real-world experience across the entire wine value chain – from vineyard management and grapevine physiology, to laboratory analysis and winemaking processes, as well as wine presentation, tasting, and promotion. Practical training often takes place in close cooperation with industry partners, research institutions, and professional events, allowing students to develop technical skills, professional confidence, and strong connections with the wine sector.
