University of Nova Gorica, the best university in Slovenia in the field of Physical Sciences

It was incorporated into the top 500 world universities in this field (the highest ranking was achieved by the American university Caltech, the University of Ljubljana was ranked among the 600-800 of the best universities, the University of Maribor was ranked among the top 800-1000, while the University of Primorska was in the group of the top 1500 universities onwards). Perhaps more importantly, the University of Nova Gorica is ranked 17-21 university among the universities from all the neighbouring countries.

In the overall ranking, the University of Nova Gorica and the University of Ljubljana have achieved the best results among the Slovenian universties; the two universities have been included into the top 1000 world universities (the ranking was considered for some 2200 universities from 115 countries and lands). Here it should be noted that not all higher education institutions have been considered for the purposes of ranking (it is estimated that in Europe alone there are 4000-5000 higher education institutions).

Despite the popularity and accessibility of various university rankings, including the most renowned such as THE ranking, it should be noted that their methodologies do not account for all aspects of higher education. The rankings represent a rough estimate of university quality, so future students would do well to acquaint themselves thoroughly with the content of the study programmes on offer.
