A film by Rajko Grlić was awarded the American Grand Prix award at the Montreal World Film Festival
A long-time faculty member of the School of Arts at the University of Nova Gorica, Professor Rajko Grlić was given the main award at the Montreal film festival for his film “The Constitution of the Republic of Croatia”.
At the prestigious Montreal World Film Festival the film was awarded the American Grand Prix Award, the award for the best film. Apart from the unanimous decision of the jury to give Grlić the award, he was also given a monetary award worth of US 100.000 dollars. Montreal World Film Festival is the only competition festival of category A in North America.
As the film was made in coproduction with the Slovene Film Center, the next festival where the film can also be seen by the Slovene public will be the Slovenian Film Festival in Portorož. The European premiere of the film will be during the competition section of the festival on September 14, 2016. “A love story that reveals all our prejudices and hatred towards being different. This is a story of courage to be whatever you are and still love yourself.”
