University of Nova Gorica & UNISCAPE in collaboration with Merging Ecologies at Biennale Session in Venice
The University of Nova Gorica and UNISCAPE (European Network of Universities dedicated to landscape studies and education to the principles of the European Landscape Convention) in collaboration with Merging Ecologies & Partners and with the support of Fondazione Venezia per la Pace and International Academy of Environmental Sciences, organizes research forum to reflect upon the future landscape research perspectives and challenges.
Following the outcomes of the first edition of Forum, held last year in Bruxelles at New European Bauhaus Festival, we will take this occasion to launch the Uniscape Forum for students and early-stage researchers by opening up the dialogue with their peers from Africa to exchange and discuss together the challenges of Landscape research, share their landscape stories, imaginaries, hopes, and ambitions. To animate the collaborative imagination and debate, Merging Ecologies will present the outcomes of the competition African Landscapes on the Move, and award the winners.
As stated by Lesley Lokko, Africa is “…the place on this planet where all issues of equity, race, hope and fear converge and merge. Anthropologically we are all Africans. And what happens in Africa happens to all of us…”
The Workshop in the Session will be held in Arsenale, Sala delle Armi G, Ground Floor, from 2.30 to 4.30 p.m., and will present the works with an online connection, open a debate, and announce the winners.
