Open Science Week of the ACROSS Alliance
The European cross-border university ACROSS, of which the University of Nova Gorica is a member, is organizing the Open Science Week from 20 to 24 October 2025.
Events and workshops will take place at all member universities of the ACROSS Alliance and will also be accessible online.
What is Open Science?
Open Science stands for strategies and procedures for making all components of scientific processes open, accessible, comprehensible and reusable via the internet, such as publications (Open Access), research data (Open Data), learning materials (Open Educational Resources), software (Open Source) and review processes (Open Review). It also strives for integrating non-professionals in research (Citizen Science).
Why does ACROSS engage in and for Open Science?
- it facilitates the cross-border dissemination of knowledge,
- it enhances the cross-border collaboration and cooperation in research,
- it promotes the cross-border development of innovative (digital) teaching and learning and
- it prepares the ground for cross-border networks with partners from extramural research institutions, economy, politics and society for successful knowledge transfer.
