Impressions from the International Summer School on Bilingualism and Multilingualism (ISSBM 2022), Chemintz, Germany, September 2022
The European Cross-Border University (ACROSS) organized the International Summer School on Bilingualism and Multilingualism (ISSBM 2022) from 12th to 16th September 2023.
The summer school, held at an ACROSS partner university in Chemnitz, Germany, was intended for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students interested in linguistics, with a focus on bilingualism, multilingualism, and second language acquisition. The program also addressed topics related to heritage and minority languages.
The summer school offered a comprehensive and interdisciplinary experience for exploring different perspectives on multilingualism in collaboration with international networks. In addition to learning various theoretical and practical contents, participants also had the opportunity to present their work at a research event: based on a previously submitted abstract, they presented their ongoing or completed projects.
The summer school was funded by ACROSS – EUROPEAN CROSS-BORDER UNIVERSITY.
Fifteen students were awarded scholarships to participate in the summer school.
