Presentation of UNG and the Across Alliance at the Youth Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Festival of Slovenia – POPRI, Nova Gorica, 9th April, 2026

Together with our partner university in the Across project, the University of Udine, we presented ourselves today in the center of Nova Gorica at the Youth Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Festival of Slovenia – POPRI.

The presentation of the Across Alliance of European Cross-Border Universities, the Erasmus+ mobility programmes, and a sensory workshop by the School of Viticulture and Enology on identifying aromas in wine took place in a truly special exhibition space – we were hosted by Gringo, a mobile and energy self-sufficient unit of the Center for Green Technologies. Gringo is not just a trailer; it is a working prototype that, using solar energy and battery storage, operates completely independently of the power grid. On this occasion, Gringo provided electricity for all the festival stands, with the exception of the local radio’s mobile unit.

By generating green energy, Gringo can simplify the organization of events at various locations and reduce their environmental impact. This time, it also proved to be a fantastic space for creativity, exploration, and connection.

The Center for Green Technologies was established in 2022 in cooperation with the University of Nova Gorica and the Municipality of Nova Gorica, as a response to the challenges of developing modern green solutions and managing a sustainable future.

The University of Nova Gorica has been successfully collaborating with the Centre for several years, and we are already looking forward to the next opportunity to present together and engage with curious visitors.

The University of Nova Gorica Foundation also presented its work at the festival, supporting various groups of young people—such as talented individuals, athletes, and students with fewer opportunities—through its funds and scholarships.

We would like to sincerely thank the event organizer, the Primorska Technology Park, for the invitation to participate. And heartfelt congratulations to all the young winners of the best entrepreneurial ideas in the POPRI competition!
