UNG and Study in Slovenia presentations in Bulgaria and North Macedonia
From 12 and 16 November 2025 UNG took part in the Study in Slovenia activities in Bulgaria and North Macedonia.
Activities of 15 November 2025:
Today the University of Nova Gorica, together with the Study in Slovenia initiative, held a presentation for prospective students from Nortn Macedonia in Skopje, informing the latter about the advantages of studying in Slovenia and sharing various tips concerning the application process. The ACROSS University Alliance was also presented.
Moreover, the representative of the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Skopje, Mr. Martin Glažar, Third Secretary for Consular Affairs, added valuable information concerning the process of obtaining the temporary residence permit for future students intending to enrol in the 2026/27 academic year.
The University of Nova Gorica expresses its sincere gratitude to the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Skopje for the long-term cooperation in the common efforts of promoting the Slovenian Higher Education Area in the Republic of North Macedonia.
Activities of 14 November 2025:
The third day of the Study in Slovenia tour was dedicated to the visit of the Kole Nehtenin Secondary School in Štip, North Macedonia. The University of Nova Gorica actually has years' long cooperation with this school and a significant number of UNG students and graduates are former students of this respective school.
Today, more than 120 secondary-school students attended the two presentations at this school, learned about the advantages of studying at the University of Nova Gorica and took part in interactive quizzes about Slovenian universities.
In addition, the mobility opportunities, as well as the advantages that the Across Alliance offers to the students were presented.
After the presentations, the school organised a common guided visit of the Institute for Protection of Monuments of Culture and Museum in Štip, which house permanent exhibitions from the fields of archaeology, history, and ethnology; and the Church of St. Nikola.
We look forward to continuing our cooperation with the Kole Nehtenin Secondary School and express our sincere gratitude to the school's Director, Prof. Jovanka Šaleva, and Prof. Lidija Kišiševa, for hosting us and organising the whole programme.
Activities of 13 November 2025:
Today, students from two secondary schools in the Bulgarian city of Pernik – the Petko Rachov Slaveykov Grammar School and the Pernik Vocational School of Economics – had the opportunity to learn about the advantages of studying at the University of Nova Gorica and other Slovenian universities, as well as the various benefits associated with student status in Slovenia. UNG also presented the ACROSS European University.
The event was organised by the Study in Slovenia initiative in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Sofia, to whom we extend our sincere thanks for their support.
Activities of 12 November 2025:
Today, the University of Nova Gorica, together with the ACROSS Alliance, presented itself in Bulgaria as part of the Study in Slovenia initiative. We visited the Lyudmil Stoyanov Language High School in Blagoevgrad and the National High School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics “Academician Lyubomir Chakalov” in Sofia.
In addition, a presentation of study opportunities in Slovenia took place at the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Sofia, followed by a pleasant meeting with the Ambassador, H.E. Nataša Bergelj.
