Micro-credentials
In accordance with the Council of the European Union Recommendation on Micro-credentials (2022), the European Education Area 2025, the European Quality Assurance Framework and the European Directive on the Recognition of Professional Qualifications (Directive 2005/36/EC) and the ZViS-1, micro-credentials means the record of the learning outcomes that a learner has acquired following a small volume of learning, evaluated according to the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (hereinafter referred to as: ECTS). Education is prepared in such a way as to equip an individual with specific knowledge, skills and competences that address social, personal, cultural or labour market needs. According to the Guide for the Development of a Micro-Evidence System in Slovenian Higher Education, micro-credential is the property of the learner, is transferable between institutions (nationally and internationally) and exchangeable (with other stakeholders, so that everyone understands its content). It can be stand-alone or combined into more comprehensive evidence. It is supported by quality assurance systems and follows agreed standards in the relevant field of educational activity.
University of Nova Gorica accepted the Instructions for preparing and implementing short education and training courses for obtaining micro-credentials at the University of Nova Gorica in March 2026.
