ACROSS Canvas Workshop, 17th November 2025

The University of Nova Gorica, in cooperation with the Primorska Technology Park, organized the ACROSS CANVAS workshop at the Lanthieri Mansion. The workshop took place as part of the activities within the Team Task 3.4 of the project ACROSS – the European Cross-Border University Alliance, of which the University of Nova Gorica is a member.

The Team Task 3.4 strives to foster cross-border cooperation in the field of research and innovation among the member universities and external partners, including providing support and mentorship to students by experienced entrepreneurs.

The workshop was attended by five students of the study programme in Engineering and Management of the School of Engineering and Management of the University of Nova Gorica, as well as three students from the Department of Agricultural, Food, Environmental and Animal Sciences and the Department of Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics of the University of Udine, which is also a member of the ACROSS Alliance. The participants learned about business model development through hands-on work with the Canvas template. They were also informed about the possibility of participating in the national competition POPRI for entrepreneurial ideas for young people aged 12 to 29, organized by Primorska Technology Park – an associated partner of the ACROSS project. After the introductory address by Prof. Dr. Imre Cikajlo, Dean of the School of Engineering and Management at UNG, the workshop was led by experienced entrepreneur Matjaž Kljajić, co-founder of the brand Gina’s Woofs, which took part in the entrepreneurial programme GoStartup Academy at Primorska Technology Park.

The workshop enabled students to gain practical skills in business model development and encouraged entrepreneurial thinking and creativity among young people, while also strengthening cross-border cooperation within the ACROSS Alliance.
