Outstanding success of our students at the 18th international student conference Students Encounter Science at the University of Banja Luka
Our students of the Master's programme in Viticulture and Enology, Magdalina Mihajlovska and Tara Seničić, successfully participated in the 18th international student conference Students Encounter Science at the University of Banja Luka, UNG’s partner university within the ACROSS Alliance of European Cross-Border Universities, where they presented the results of their research projects.
Magdalina Mihajlovska received the first prize for her presentation Influence of Different Maceration Approaches and Durations on Phenolic Content in Pinela Wines, prepared under the mentorship of Assist. Prof. Dr. Melita Sternad Lemut and Prof. Dr. Guillaume Antalick. This represents an important recognition of the high quality of the scientific and research work carried out by our students.
Tara Seničić also delivered her presentation, titled Influence of Maceration and Fermentation on the Aromatic Profile of the Variety Zelen (mentors: Prof. Dr. Lorena Butinar and Prof. Dr. Guillaume Antalick), with great success.
Both students conducted their research at the UNG Wine Research Centre, and their participation in the conference was supported by the University of Nova Gorica Foundation. The implementation of their experiments was also made possible by the company TOSLA from Ajdovščina, which donated funds to our School for Viticulture and Enology for the purchase of laboratory grape presses — for which we extend our sincere thanks to TOSLA!
We warmly congratulate both students and their mentors!
We are proud of our students and of the fact that the knowledge originating from the Vipava Valley resonates internationally as well.
The student conference at the University of Banja Luka has demonstrated that cooperation within the ACROSS Alliance opens new opportunities for students from many countries and strengthens the common European academic space.
