Kristina Pranjić is Associate Professor of Literary Studies at the School of Humanities and researcher at the Research Centre for Humanities at the University of Nova Gorica. She studied Comparative Literature and Russian Language and Literature at the University of Ljubljana, where she also earned her PhD in Slavic Studies. She conducted research at the University of Konstanz, the University of Belgrade, and the Paris 8 University, and taught at the University of Klagenfurt. Her scholarly work focuses on literary and art theory, the history and theory of the avant-garde, intermedia art, intersections between art and science, cosmism and early ecological thought, ecocriticism, critical theory, semiotics, and the philosophy of language.

She is author of numerous articles on alternative epistemologies of avant-garde art, defamiliarization and abstraction in poetic and visual language, with an emphasis on transnational collaboration and the emancipatory potential of art, particularly within marginal and minor avant-garde practices in Central and Eastern Europe and their influence on socio-political and ecological discourses. She is co-editor of the volumes The World as Objectlessness (2018), Cosmic Anarchism (2021), and Avant-garde and the End of the World (2025). Together with Vadim Rudnev, she co-authored the books Bog-attraktor: issledovanie v oblasti filosofii obydennogo jazyka (2020) and Narrativnyj dissonans: jazyk protiv real’nosti (2020). She is author of the monograph Jugoslovanska avantgarda in metropolitanska dada (2025).
