Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement applies to the website https://ung.si, which is managed by the University of Nova Gorica.

The University of Nova Gorica strives to ensure and enable accessibility of its website in accordance with the Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications Act (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 30/18, 95/21 – ZInfV-A, 189/21 – ZDU-1M, 18/23 – ZDU-1O; hereinafter: ZDSMA).

Level of compliance

To meet the statutory accessibility requirements, certain adaptations have been implemented, such as:

  • responsive design (adjusting the content layout to screen resolution),
  • keyboard navigation (for users who cannot use a mouse),
  • appropriate color contrast between text and background,
  • predictable website behavior,
  • use of different heading levels,
  • indication of the current position on the website (breadcrumbs),
  • font size enlargement options,
  • properly set <html lang=""> attribute,
  • a skip-to-main-content link,
  • access to content via more than one method (navigation menu, search engine),
  • appropriately aligned text, with suitable letter and line spacing,
  • properly labeled forms (labels, required fields, error messages).

Non-accessible content

At the University of Nova Gorica, we continuously strive to improve the user experience for our users and, accordingly, we regularly enhance individual accessibility elements.

Nevertheless, some published content does not yet fully meet all accessibility requirements as defined by the Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications Act.

The content listed below is not accessible for the following reason:

  • disproportionate burden.

For example:

  • some pages do not support the use of different heading levels,
  • video content is not provided with Slovenian Sign Language interpretation or subtitles,
  • image elements do not have appropriate alternative text,
  • scanned PDF documents,
  • some complex tables, graphic schemes, legends, organizational charts, and photo galleries are not adapted for keyboard use,
  • some image elements are not properly prepared (they contain text).
