The Master’s degree programme “Materials Science” is interdisciplinary and research-oriented. The program is designed in cooperation with the National Institute of Chemistry and the Jožef Stefan Institute. The partner institutions contribute to the programme with with excellent personnel and research conditions in the fields of physics and chemistry of materials, characterization of materials, as well as materials technologies and development of innovative products and services. It is intended for students who want to acquire top competencies and knowledge in the field of functional materials with an emphasis on environmental and energy applications.

Available e-platforms for distant learning to exchange study materials in electronic form as well as provide virtual access to lectures.
Accreditation
The study program Materials Science is created in collaboration between the University of Nova Gorica, National Institute for Chemistry and Jožef Stefan Institute and was accredited by the Slovenian Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education for the maximal possible seven year span (until 19 Nov. 2024).
Funding
We incurage interested students to contact us. The program is registered in the evidence of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, which enables the students to claim their social status and benefits according to Slovenian law.
