Objectives and competences
To provide students with the methodological foundations and various skills necessary for carrying out professional research tasks and writing professional scientific reports or contributions in the field of Slovene studies, both literary studies and linguistics (the student chooses one of the fields) or on the field of cultural history.

Content
The Diploma Seminar is designed to equip students with the methodological foundations and skills necessary for conducting independent research and writing professional scientific reports or papers in the field of Slovene and Cultural studies. This seminar focuses on developing the essential competencies for producing an extended seminar paper, which incorporates all key elements required for a diploma (BA graduate) paper. Students will choose to focus on either literary studies or linguistics within Slovene studies or studies within Cultural history. This syllabus provides a clear path from research inception to the final submission of an extended seminar paper, covering all necessary academic, methodological, and writing skills for BA students in Slovene and Cultural studies.
Intended learning outcomes
• Understand and apply research methodologies relevant to Slovene literary studies or linguistics or cultural history.
• Identify a research problem, formulate research questions, and set clear objectives.
• Conduct a literature review and use appropriate citation practices.
• Design and execute a research plan, including data collection and analysis.
• Produce a well-structured extended seminar paper that meets academic standards at BA (undergraduate) level
• Present and defend their research findings in a professional setting.
Readings
Readings defined and coordinated by the work mentor in agreement with one of the course leaders, either for the field of linguistics or literary studies.

Seminar paper (extended) with oral presentation (100%)
Lecturer's references
Kristina Pranjić is an associate professor in literary studies at the Faculty of Humanities, University of Nova Gorica. She works in the areas of literary methodology, as well as the history and theory of European avant-gardes with contemporary intermedia artistic phenomena.
