Objectives and competences
The main objective of the course is to make the students familiar with the basic knowledge of logistics and supply chain from inputs, processes and outputs with a focus on tracebility.
Students gain economic and logistical knowledge. They learn how to make a logistics label in accordance with global standards, to establish an electronic flow of logistics documents and everything necessary for the efficient implementation of logistics in practice.
The added value of the course is the possibility of obtaining a certificate of knowledge of international global standards in logistics and supply chain.
Students will gain the following competences:
- knowledge of the main business logistics processes:
- the procurement process, the internal transport process, the storage process and the external transport process,
- knowledge of the ways of studying, designing and building a logistics system,
- knowledge of the logistics information systems,
- knowledge of technical means in logistics,
- mastering the principles of leanness in logistics,
- Concept of logistics in companies.
Prerequisites
Basic computer and internet knowledge.

Intended learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the students will get familiar and understand the following:
- Students will become acquainted with the basic concepts of managing processes in logistics, taking into account the various existing technologies and strategies for managing companies with the emphasis on lean business organization and traceability through the supply chain.
- They will recognize and learn of the importance of global standards that enable interoperable and scalable processes and enable efficient logistics, where trading partners can easily collaborate and share information across the entire chain.
- On practical examples, in accordance with global standards, they learn how to identify and capture data about logistical and other trade units, how to make a logistic label, and gain knowledge about global measurement rules.
- Possibility to obtain a Certificate of knowledge of international global standards in logistics and supply chain.

Assessment
Successfully passed the final written and oral exam (50/50) and real-time verification of completed practical assignments from the workbook and practical exercises in the classroom (if necessary on-line) and colloquias. Positively assessed current work is a condition for admission to the colloquium or. final examination. 50/50
Lecturer's references
dr. Mateja Podlogar is a consultant and GDSN and Education Project Manager at GS1 Slovenija. She holds a PhD in e-commerce, is a guest lecturer and an experienced researcher. He has extensive experience in the management of global supply chains and their digitization with the support of global standards and solutions. He is an expert in the management and exchange of quality master data on products and packaging through the global GDSN network. Recently, he has been focusing on the transfer of global knowledge in the field of master data synchronization, traceability and electronic commerce, through practical examples to tertiary education students.
