Conference Big data, small literatures

The overarching thematic focus of this symposium is digital literary studies, which, as part of digital humanities, recently introduced a radical paradigmatic shift in the humanities. The conference aims to provide a platform for the presentation, exploration, and comparative analysis of the challenges encountered by scholars in the field of digital literary studies, particularly experts on literatures in minor languages as well as literatures that, though not inherently minor, nevertheless tend to be pushed to the periphery by Anglocentrism. The conference fosters cross-disciplinary exchange between and among scholars in literary studies and computer science, addressing shared challenges crucial to the advancement of global digital literary studies. Hosted by the Slovenian Comparative Literature Association, the conference is co-funded by the Slovenian Book Agency, the ZRC SAZU Institute of Slovenian Literature and Literary Studies, and the Research Center for the Humanities at the University of Nova Gorica.
