Laura Brataševec (1988) lives in Potoče near Ajdovščina. In the academic year 2008/09, she enrolled at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Nova Gorica. She completed her diploma thesis entitled Svetlana Makarovič's Fairy Tales in Structural Analysis in 2012 under the supervision of Assistant Professor Barbara Pregelj. In the academic year 2012/13, she enrolled in the second cycle of the Bologna programme, majoring in Literary Studies. She completed her master's thesis entitled Representations of Motherhood in Selected Works of Slovenian Drama after 1975 in 2014 under the supervision of Assistant Prof. Dr. Alja Adam and Prof. Dr. Katja Mihurko Poniž, thus obtaining the title Master of Slovene Studies. She was granted a special award from the Slavic Studies Association for her master's thesis work. Later she expanded the results of her research and published them in an original scientific article in the journal Language and Literature.

In 2014 she joined the Slovenian National Theatre Nova Gorica as a theatre lecturer under the mentorship of a well-established Slovenian theatre lecturer, playwright, and director Srečko Fišer. In 2015, she became a self-employed cultural worker, collaborating with various Slovenian theatres and delivering independent lectures on theatre performances (a list is available on the websites of the aforementioned theatres). Having acquired such experiences, she became well-versed in theatre language and rhetoric.

In December 2016, she started working as a trainee at the Veno Pilon Ajdovščina Secondary School, later joining the school as a Slovene teacher, where she remains employed. She participates in professional training and further education, focusing on teaching Slovene in secondary schools and working with young people. She further conducts research in the humanities. To enhance her work quality, she collaborates with numerous institutions, locally and beyond. The most frequent cooperation is with the Lavričeva Library in Ajdovščina, organising and hosting various literary evenings or round tables. This year, she began cooperation with the Research Centre of the Faculty of Humanities on the DEWONA project - Sexual Desire in the Works of Slovenian Women Writers (1890-1940) from a Traditional Perspective. Additionally, she started working with Zavod za šolstvo RS, where she is a member of the commission for the renewal of secondary school curricula, aiming to increase the inclusion of women authors and their texts in the educational process.
