Peripheral Visions’ Call for research and artistic residencies

The University of Nova Gorica and IoDeposito ETS, as part of the Peripheral Visions project, are
pleased to announce a call for Research and Artistic Residencies to take place between March
and October 2025 at the University of Nova Gorica.
Situated within the vibrant cultural context of GO! 2025, EU Culture Capital Nova Gorica and

Gorizia, these residencies offer a unique opportunity to engage with the cross-border-less
spatial dynamics. The research residencies will support design- and graphic representa-
tion-led inquiries that prioritize strong visual expression as an essential component of schol-
arly output. Researchers will investigate spatial narratives, forms, and patterns, creating visually
impactful representations that engage the public and inform artistic interpretations. In parallel,
the artistic residencies will host promising artists to develop site-specific works that reflect the
complexities and evolving stories of the border region.
This initiative places a strong emphasis on art-led place-making, fostering creativity as a cata-
lyst for cultural connection and interpretation.

This call invites applications for two Research Residencies and up to six Artistic Residencies
