Re-Value project and GO! 2025 discuss Heritage Cities, Water and Migration in Biennale Arte in Venice

The session brought together over 70 international participants, including civil servants, NGO representatives, artists, students, and academics from across Europe. They engaged in dynamic discussions on the future Landscape of Migration through the core themes of the Re-value project, and aligned with this year’s Biennale theme, "Strangers Everywhere." Through compelling case studies from ten different cities, presenters explored key topics such as industrial heritage adaptive reuse, port regeneration, and the impact of migration.

The IoDeposito organization facilitated an inspiring presentation by artists Alice Mestriner and Ahad Moslemi, who shared insights into their work in Tarvisio, a unique border city, and Livorno. Their talk, titled Floating Borders, captivated participants with the powerful concept of transforming a city’s limitations into strengths, setting an inspiring tone for the workshop.

The session concluded with a vibrant exchange of impressions gathered from the Biennale experience. Participants reflected on the photos they had taken during their visit to Venice, sparking a lively and engaging discussion on the elements that impressed, moved, or surprised them the most. This conversation evolved into a dynamic debate about the shared challenges and beauty of waterfront cities across Europe.
