Research assistant or research associate / assistant professor in the field of environmental chemistry and ecotoxicology (m/f/o)

This position is available to candidates interested in pursuing a research and academic career at the University of Nova Gorica . We offer the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment supported by state-of-the-art research equipment and a strong involvement in international research.

Research activities will take place at the Laboratory for Environmental and Life sciences.
We seek a candidate capable of working independently, with a clear vision of their future research direction.

In accordance with their appointment, the successful candidate will also take on teaching duties in the fields of Environmental monitoring and/or Ecotoxicology within study programs at the University of Nova Gorica .

The position will be available as soon as the selection process is completed. The contract is for full-time working hours over a fixed term of 12 months.

Candidates are expected to:

• have a PhD degree in the field of Chemistry, Biology, environmental science or related fields,
• requirements for election to the title of assistant or assistant professor at the University of Nova Gorica,
• ability to work independently,
• have a theoretical background and work experience which cover one or more of the following fields: health effects and toxicology of environmental pollutants, ecotoxicological studies on test organisms, biomonitoring or other pertinent topic in environemental science - which shall be reflected in candidate's bibliography with an adequate number of original scientific papers in international journals,
• have good command of the English language,
• preferentially have research experience abroad (1 year or longer).
