Postdoctoral associate in the field of photothermal spectroscopy and instrumentation (m/f)

This position is available to candidates interested in pursuing a research and academic career at the University of Nova Gorica (UNG). We offer the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment supported by state-of-the-art research equipment and a strong involvement in international research. 

Research activities will take place at the Laboratory for Environmental and Life sciences
(LELS) in the study of biocomposite materials that exhibit antibacterial activity. In accordance with their appointment, the successful candidate will also take on teaching duties for laboratory exercises and seminars in selected study programmes at the university.

Candidates are expected to: * have a PhD degree in the field of Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science or related fields, * have good command of the English language, * preferably have had previous research experience abroad.

We are looking for an experienced scientist with a strong theoretical background and practical experience in the fields of: photothermal spectroscopy and instrumentation, laser spectroscopy, mathematical modelling/computer programing and material characterization (supported by original scholarly publications).

The position will be available as soon as the selection process is completed and no later than January 1st, 2021. The selected candidate will be appointed for 12 months, with the possibility of extension. Employment is offered as a full-time position.
