Two New Books of the Faculty Members of the University of Nova Gorica
A monograph titled Fuzzy Algebraic Hyperstructures: An Introduction and co-written by Assistant Professor Dr. Irina Cristea, a member of the Center for Systems and Information Technologies of the University of Nova Gorica, and Prof. Dr. Bijan Davvaz, one of the key researchers in the area that the book describes, was just published by the world-renowned publishing house Springer.
The book is designed as an introduction into soft algebraic hyper-structures and contains five chapters. The monograph that brings together and reflects upon past research in the chosen field that has been done by various authors. It is in fact a reference type of book and addresses both senior researchers as well as undergraduate and graduate students.
Slovenska matica publishing house published a book titled Robotika in umetna inteligenca (Robotics and Artificial Intelligence) that was edited by prof. dr. Tadej Bajd and prof. dr. Ivan Bratko. Among the contributors are also prof. dr. Tadej Bajd and prof. dr. Jadran Lenarčič, who both teach the Robotics class in the Master’s program in Business Engineering at the School of Engineering and Management of the University of Nova Gorica.
The book is based on the internationally recognized research of Slovenian scientists in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence. It debates challenging issues that are presented in a lucid and interesting way. It addresses a wider Slovenian public, ranging from curious high school students to college students and others who want to know more about how robots align with human desires, how they familiarize themselves with abstract notions, and finally, what role such technologies play in new media arts projects and what the future challenges of robotics are.
