Slovenian team of young astronomers successful at the 10th International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics in India!
Slovenian secondary team is international Olympiad excellent results, as all five riders received medals: three commendations, bronze and silver medal!
From 9 to 19 December 2016 the Young representatives of Slovenia, was attended the 10th International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics in the Indian city of Bhubaneswar. Olympic team consisted of Luke Govedič (II. Gimnazija Maribor), Anze Jenko (a former student of Gimnazija Bežigrad), Alexei Jurca (Gymnasium Bežigrad), Jakob Robnik (a former student of Gymnasium Bežigrad) and Urban Ogrinec (High school and secondary school Rudolf Maister, Kamnik). They were among secondary school students who are performing best in the national competition in knowledge of astronomy for "Dominkova priznanja" that since 2009 organizes DMFA Slovenia, led by Andrew Guštin and dr. Andrea Gomboc, professor of astronomy at the School of Science at the University of Nova Gorica.
