School of Science of the Unievrsity of Nova Gorica and Slovenian Web Space Portal are announcing a public lecture entitled "Radio telescope of the Bežigrad high school", taking place on May 26, 2016 at the Celje high school. The lecturer will be Dr. Andrej Lajovic, member of the Vega astonomy club and the mentor of the student astronomy club at the Bežigrad high school.

Radiotelescope is a device for the detection of radio waves, coming from space. Although we usually envision them as large parabolic dishes, it is possible to make a smaller and simpler version at home. The lecture will present functionality of a radiotelescope, how such a device was made by the students of the Bežigrad high school and which astronomical objects did it enable them to observe.
