Student wine festival organized by the University of Nova Gorica's School for Viticulture and Enology
On Thursday, 30 May, 2013, the University of Nova Gorica's School for Viticulture and Enology will organize the 6th Annual Student Wine Festival. This year, it will be, for the first time, held at the Lanthieri mansion in Vipava (Glavni trg 8), where the School for Viticulture and Enology has its new home base. Student presentations will open the festival at 4 pm.
Students of the Bachelor’s Program in Viticulture and Enology will be the exhibitors, presenting homemade wines and wines of famous wine producers. This way, the students are able to experience the wine promotion and marketing already during their studies. This is crucial at the time of fierce competition on the wine markets. Moreover, the wines that are original University of Nova Gorica brands will be presented to the public – University Red, University Zelen, and University Rose. These wines are produced on the university wine estate.
This year’s wine festival will welcome the Slovenian wine queen Neža Pavlič, Vipava’s wine queen and a student of the School of Viticukture and Enology, Katja Blagonja, the Queen of rebula (ribolla), Jana Drnovšček, and the Queen of teran (terrano), Karin Štoka. The Lanthieri castle will also host this year’s Wine queen from Maribor, Mojca Kern and the Cviček wine queen Andreja Simeoni. The visitors will be able to taste the promotion wines at the festival.
You are cordially invited to, together with our students, taste the delicious Slovenian wines and get acquainted with many interesting wine stories.
