The Visit of the Rector of the University of Trieste
Today, the Rector of the University of Trieste, Prof. Dr. Maurizio Fermeglia paid us a visit. He was accompanied by Vice-rector, Prof. Dr. Renato Gennaro.
The guests were greeted by the Rector of the University of Nova Gorica, Prof. Dr. Danilo Zavrtanik and Vice-rector, Prof. Dr. Gvido Bratina. The guests heard a brief introduction of the University of Nova Gorica and they also discussed possible collaboration. Towards the end of his visit, Prof. Dr. Fermeglia visited the Lanthieri Mansion which is the headquarters of the School for Viticulture and Enology, the Wine Research Center, and the Center for Biomedical Sciences and Engineering.
The University of Trieste and The University of Nova Gorica already run a few joint projects in the fields of biochemistry, molecular biology, nanotechnology, and architecture, however, both rectors stressed that mutual projects and overall collaboration need to be strengthened.
